Fenway Health delivers comprehensive primary medical care, behavioral health therapy, dental care, and specialized LGBTQIA+ health services to patients throughout Greater Boston and New England. Established in 1971 by neighborhood organizers and medical students operating a volunteer clinic in a church basement, the agency has expanded into a world-recognized federally qualified health center that serves tens of thousands of individuals annually across multiple modern clinical facilities in Boston.

The organization provides complete primary care designed to address the whole person throughout every stage of life. Clinical offerings encompass adult and family medicine, pediatric care, women's health, routine immunizations, and preventive screenings. Fenway Health has long stood at the global forefront of HIV and AIDS care, providing comprehensive medical management, specialized case management, rapid HIV and STI testing, and extensive access to pre-exposure and post-exposure prophylaxis. Multidisciplinary care teams collaborate closely to ensure patients receive integrated medical attention, comprehensive pharmacy consultation, and continuous supportive case management across all treatment plans.

Transgender and gender-diverse health services represent a cornerstone of the center's clinical expertise. Specialized multidisciplinary care teams provide affirming hormone therapy, surgical referrals, pediatric and adolescent support, and health insurance navigation. In addition, the center houses full-service dentistry, an optometry clinic, diagnostic radiology, nutrition counseling, acupuncture, and on-site retail and specialty pharmacies that streamline care delivery under one roof. These comprehensive clinical services allow patients to address diverse healthcare and wellness needs within a single, welcoming, and culturally competent environment.

Behavioral health services at Fenway Health provide accessible, identity-affirming mental health care through individual psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and specialized support groups. The Violence Recovery Program provides free, confidential counseling, crisis intervention, and legal advocacy for LGBTQIA+ survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, harassment, and hate crimes. Dedicated support groups help individuals heal from trauma, build resilience, and navigate the legal and healthcare systems with professional guidance.

Through The Fenway Institute, the organization operates an internationally acclaimed center for clinical research, public education, and health policy. Researchers conduct clinical trials for HIV vaccines and therapies, epidemiological studies on transgender health, and national assessments of health disparities affecting sexual and gender minorities. The Institute's National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center trains thousands of healthcare providers, health center executives, and hospital systems across the United States and abroad in delivering culturally responsive, evidence-based care.

Fenway Health remains deeply committed to removing systemic barriers to care for underserved and marginalized populations across New England. The organization accepts diverse public and private insurance plans, provides sliding-scale fee programs for uninsured patients, and offers comprehensive language interpretation services. Through clinical excellence, groundbreaking research innovation, and enduring community advocacy, Fenway Health continues to lead the global movement for health equity and compassionate, dignified healthcare for all individuals and families.
