Berlin, NJ · Serving Camden County

Serves Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout Camden CountyDisabilityRegistered nonprofit

The Arc of Camden County advocates for the rights, dignity, and full community inclusion of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Established in 1947 by a grassroots collective of local parents, the nonprofit has developed into a multifaceted service agency centered in Berlin. The organization works to ensure that individuals of all abilities experience personal autonomy, economic opportunity, and meaningful social connections.

Employment preparation and vocational rehabilitation form a core focus through the Occupational Training Center. Participants gain practical workplace skills in contract assembly, janitorial services, and food preparation. As part of its innovative vocational offerings, the agency operates the Three Little Birds Cafe and food truck, providing participants with hands-on culinary, customer service, and commercial kitchen experience in community settings. Supported employment specialists also provide personalized job coaching to place and sustain participants in competitive jobs.

In addition to vocational training, the organization offers adult day programs focused on daily living skills, health and exercise, socialization, and community access. Residential programs manage supervised group homes and independent living apartments across Camden County, ensuring safe and supportive housing tailored to individual needs. Through the federal Ticket to Work initiative, the agency assists Social Security disability beneficiaries in achieving economic self-sufficiency.
