Pride Collective and Community Center
Fargo, ND · Serving Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area and the Red River Valley
Pride Collective and Community Center serves as a grassroots gathering space and resource hub for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals across the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area and the Red River Valley. First established in October 2000, the center provides a welcoming physical environment where queer and trans people, particularly working-class community members and racialized individuals, can build community and find peer support.
The organization maintains an open storefront on First Avenue South in Fargo. Inside, visitors find a relaxed social environment with a community lending library of books, periodicals, and films, alongside board games and video games. The space hosts informal drop-in hours where people can socialize, share meals, and find affirming resources in an accessible setting.
In addition to drop-in hospitality, the center provides meeting facilities and organizational support for several community-led subgroups. Regular partner programs hosted at the center include Red River Rainbow Seniors for older adults, the BIPOC Crew, Tristate Transgender, and Rainbow Recovery peer meetings. The center also collaborates on community events including Transgender Day of Visibility and annual FM Pride celebrations.
Governed by an all-volunteer community board, Pride Collective and Community Center relies on grassroots contributions and community participation to sustain its open-door operations, ensuring an affirming gathering place remains available in North Dakota.
