FM Pride

Fargo, ND · Serving Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area and the Red River Valley

Serves LGBTQ+ individuals, families, youth, and allies throughout Fargo-Moorhead, the Red River Valley, and surrounding rural communitiesLGBTQIA+

FM Pride organizes cultural celebrations, educational workshops, and community events that celebrate LGBTQ+ individuals, youth, families, and allies throughout Fargo-Moorhead and the surrounding Red River Valley. Founded in 2001 by a dedicated grassroots group of local volunteers, the organization has grown into one of the largest rural and regional Pride celebrations in the Upper Midwest.

The centerpiece of the organization's work is Fargo-Moorhead Pride Week, held each August. The multi-day celebration features the signature Pride Parade through downtown Fargo along Broadway, drawing thousands of spectators, affirming civic organizations, and community floats. Following the parade, Pride in the Park brings together dozens of local vendors, community health resources, youth activities, live musicians, and family entertainment in an open-air park setting.

Beyond the annual summer festival, the organization coordinates year-round programming designed to foster belonging and visibility. Signature events include community drag brunches, all-ages social gatherings, the annual Pride 5K fun run, educational community panels, and artistic collaborations with cultural institutions such as the Plains Art Museum. Volunteer committees work throughout the year to maintain accessibility accommodations, American Sign Language interpretation, and welcoming spaces for attendees of all backgrounds.

Operated by an all-volunteer planning committee and board of directors, FM Pride is fiscally sponsored as a nonprofit project by the North Dakota Human Rights Coalition. The group relies on local business sponsorships, donor contributions, and passionate community volunteers to keep all core festival events free and open to the public.
