The Arc of the Mid-Columbia is an all-volunteer nonprofit that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families across Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, and Gilliam Counties. Operating from The Dalles, the organization advocates for local inclusion, hosts community gatherings and educational meetings, and coordinates volunteer service projects. The chapter also administers the Special Needs Fund, which provides direct financial assistance to help individuals with developmental disabilities purchase essential household goods, adaptive items, and activity fees that fall outside traditional funding sources.
