Dallas, TX · Serving Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and North Texas

Serves LGBTQ+ residents, visitors, performers, and allies throughout North Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplexLGBTQIA+Registered nonprofit

Dallas Pride is one of the Southwest's preeminent LGBTQ+ cultural and civic organizations, dedicated to producing the state's largest and most storied annual Pride celebrations. Rooted in grassroots civil rights marches dating back to 1982, the volunteer-driven nonprofit has spent more than four decades elevating the voices, contributions, and fundamental human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people across North Texas. Through massive civic gatherings, public educational campaigns, and year-round community outreach, the organization unites diverse populations and creates an affirming environment where all individuals can celebrate their authentic selves with pride.

The centerpiece of the organization's calendar is the annual Dallas Pride celebration, anchored by the iconic Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade. Named in honor of the trailblazing Dallas community leader who guided early local Pride organizing, the parade has grown from a modest neighborhood march into a major regional spectacle that draws tens of thousands of spectators. Moving along prominent thoroughfares in downtown Dallas, the procession features hundreds of elaborately decorated floats, marching bands, university student delegations, labor unions, corporate ally contingents, and grassroots social justice organizations, making it one of the largest public processions in the southern United States.

Complementing the parade is the Festival of Rainbows, a multifaceted weekend music and community festival hosted across prominent downtown public parks and historic venues. The festival showcases a vibrant lineup of nationally recognized headliners, local queer musicians, drag entertainers, and community choirs across multiple outdoor performance stages. Beyond live entertainment, the event functions as a massive civic resource fair, bringing together hundreds of community health clinics, social service agencies, legal advocacy groups, youth programs, and LGBTQ-welcoming businesses that provide immediate support, educational literature, and resource navigation to thousands of festival attendees.

Cultural expression and community leadership are further celebrated through the annual Dallas Pride Pageant. This competitive talent showcase honors excellence in queer performing arts while crowning community ambassadors who represent Dallas Pride at civic functions, charity fundraisers, and regional conferences throughout the year. The organization also hosts specialized community zones during festival weekend, including the Teen Pride experience and Family Pride zones, ensuring safe, alcohol-free spaces where queer youth, rainbow families, and allies can enjoy interactive games, creative arts, and peer fellowship.

Dallas Pride relies on an expansive network of passionate volunteers, community committee members, and generous donors to stage its large-scale productions each year. Individuals and community groups can register to march in the parade, apply for festival exhibition booths, or volunteer across dozens of operational teams from stage management to attendee hospitality. Community members can also support the organization's year-round educational and charitable operations through corporate partnerships, memorial gifts, or direct charitable contributions through its official giving portal, ensuring the enduring vitality of LGBTQ+ visibility across Texas.
