Tea Time
Minneapolis, MN · Serving Minnesota statewide
Tea Time is a grassroots nonprofit organization built by and for transgender, nonbinary, Two-Spirit, and gender-expansive people across Minnesota. Founded in 2018, the organization fosters community resilience, joy, and mutual support by creating safe, affirming spaces where gender-diverse individuals can gather, share resources, and build meaningful relationships in an accessible, substance-free environment that celebrates authentic self-expression.
The organization hosts regular social gatherings, discussion circles, and cultural events tailored to trans and nonbinary community members across the state. From casual tea socials and craft nights to educational workshops and seasonal celebrations, Tea Time provides vital peer connection that reduces isolation and affirms diverse gender identities across all age groups and backgrounds.
In addition to community gatherings, Tea Time maintains a comprehensive resource navigation directory that connects trans individuals with gender-affirming medical providers, mental health practitioners, housing support, legal aid, and local mutual aid networks. The organization also provides direct mutual aid and community care initiatives, distributing gender-affirming items, essential care packages, and practical assistance to community members in need.
By centering trans leadership and fostering intergenerational connection, Tea Time cultivates an authentic culture of care, empowerment, and belonging where trans and gender-expansive Minnesotans can fully thrive and build lasting community solidarity.
