Fargo-Moorhead Pride

Fargo-Moorhead Pride is a volunteer-run Pride week spanning Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota. The week includes Pride in the Park, a Pride 5K, drag shows and other community events, ending with a parade. The 2026 parade marked the 25th anniversary.

Fargo-Moorhead Pride is a North Dakota nonprofit that is fiscally hosted as a 501(c)(3) by the North Dakota Human Rights Coalition. It is entirely volunteer-run, with a board of directors and a planning committee working year-round, and its mission is to empower, educate and support LGBTQ+ people in Fargo-Moorhead and beyond.

Founded by a group of volunteers, the organization grew from its first official parade and festival into a full Pride Week that added drag brunches and educational panels. In 2021 it drew record attendance, with participants traveling from across the Midwest and Canada, and organizers describe it as one of the region's largest rural Pride celebrations.

The week also includes community workshops and events with local partners, such as a drag show hosted with the Plains Art Museum. A Pride Guide with the full schedule is available as a PDF and in print on magazine racks at area grocery and convenience stores, and the organization raises money for LGBTQ+ initiatives and local nonprofits.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Fargo-Moorhead Pride has included parade, pride in the park, 5k, drag show and trivia.

Fargo-Moorhead Pride was first held in 2001.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held August 5-9, 2026. It usually falls first or second week of August.
