New Haven Pride

New Haven Pride is Greater New Haven's annual Pride festival, organized by the New Haven Pride Center. The street festival runs on downtown streets near the Pride Center on Orange Street, with a DJ circle, live music, dancing, vendors, and performances.

New Haven Pride is produced by the New Haven Pride Center and takes over downtown streets at the corner of Orange and Crown Streets. The 2026 festival was hosted by Xiomarie Labeija, an AfroLatina drag artist with more than 15 years of experience who founded the Connecticut chapter of the House of LaBeija. The DJ circle is led by DJ Concón, whose sets blend dembow, ballroom, Miami bass, Afrobeats, merengue and house. It grows out of a free community learning space for about 20 local DJs of every level.

The afternoon also brings live music, drag, larger-than-life puppets, spoken word, games for kids and adults, a Health and Wellness Village, dozens of queer vendors, food trucks, local restaurants and bars, a beer tent from Armada Brewing and quieter chill spaces, followed by afterparties. Parking is available in the State Street, Crown Street and George Street garages and on nearby streets including George, Church and Temple Streets.

In 2024 and 2025 the Pride Center served more than 15,000 people a year through over 350 events, supported by more than 100 volunteers. Its food pantry, hygiene pantry and clothing closet served about 200 people a month, and its case management program provided over 5,000 hours of support. The center closed during a financial crisis in 2026 and then reopened thanks to community donations. It has since added six board members, brought in new staff leadership and planned a community needs assessment for fall 2026.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

New Haven Pride has included street festival and live music.

The next edition is October 3-4, 2026. It usually falls usually September; October in 2026.
