Henderson Equality Center

The Henderson Equality Center is the premier LGBTQIA+ community center and primary health equity provider in the City of Henderson and throughout the greater Las Vegas metropolitan area. Established in 2017 under the Equality Project, the organization was founded to bridge critical service gaps across the southern Las Vegas Valley, creating a dedicated, affirming facility where LGBTQIA+ youth, adults, seniors, and their families can access holistic healthcare, crisis intervention, educational advancement, and social enrichment.

The organization’s physical headquarters on West Sunset Road serves as a multipurpose anchor for community care and inclusive social gathering across Clark County. Anchoring its health initiatives is the Henderson Wellness Clinic, an on-site clinical division delivering free, confidential rapid HIV and STI screenings, hepatitis testing, and comprehensive linkage to primary healthcare. Clinic specialists provide individualized navigation for pre-exposure prophylaxis and post-exposure prophylaxis medications, collaborating directly with Precision Specialty RX to ensure clients receive prompt, affordable prescription access without stigma or delay. The clinic also provides medical case management, mental health counseling referrals, and health education to promote preventative wellness and healthy living across Southern Nevada.

In addition to clinical services, the center addresses critical socioeconomic disparities through robust direct assistance programs. The on-site Community Food Pantry provides emergency groceries, fresh produce, shelf-stable staples, and essential personal care items to individuals and families experiencing economic hardship or housing insecurity. The agency also administers a competitive higher education scholarship program, awarding direct financial assistance to emerging LGBTQIA+ student leaders pursuing undergraduate degrees and vocational certifications at accredited institutions, community colleges, and trade schools throughout the state of Nevada.

Youth and senior engagement are core priorities for the center. The facility hosts structured weekly youth drop-in groups, teen peer circles, and an annual Pride Youth Prom that offers adolescents a safe, affirming space to build self-confidence, leadership skills, and lasting friendships with peers. The organization also serves as the host and organizer of Henderson Pride Fest, a vibrant multi-day festival featuring family waterpark events, community bingo, bowling nights, and vendor plazas that celebrate queer culture.
