Cedar Valley PrideFest

Cedar Valley PrideFest is a two-day ticketed festival at the RiverLoop Expo Plaza in downtown Waterloo that highlights the LGBTQ+ community of eastern Iowa. It includes music, a Pride choir program, vendors, and community groups.

Cedar Valley Pridefest is run by CVPF Inc., an all-volunteer organization that aims to present the LGBTQIA+ community of Eastern Iowa in a positive and informative way. Its board plans the entire event and oversees several subcommittees, including one for special events such as parades and an art exhibit. The board meets monthly starting in October, twice a month from February and weekly from June through August.

For 2026 the festival moved to the RiverLoop Expo Plaza, a change organizers made to gain more room for food, information and merchandise vendors, along with the plaza's built-in power and infrastructure and access to the RiverLoop Public Market Building. The 2026 dates were Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29. The event is funded through ticket sales and donations.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Cedar Valley PrideFest has included festival, choir and vendors.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held August 28-29, 2026. It usually falls last Friday and Saturday of August.
