OUTfest Lafayette

OUTfest is Pride Lafayette's annual street festival on Main Street in downtown Lafayette. It was once held in October as OUToberfest and moved to mid-August to avoid Purdue football weekends and draw more students. The festival offers live music, drag and food.

OUTfest is produced by Pride Lafayette, Inc., a 501(c)(3) that also runs the Pride Lafayette Community Center for Tippecanoe County and surrounding areas. The organization is entirely volunteer-based and funded by donations of time and money. Over its history it has moved through two community center locations and coordinated several Pride festivals in downtown Lafayette.

Its mission is to educate and promote awareness of diversity, health, culture and acceptance based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Pride Lafayette coordinates diversity education, health initiatives, community mobilization, cultural programs and research, and its outreach programs offer resources for LGBTQ+ people, allies and parents in Greater Lafayette.

The group describes its vision as building bridges between young and old, lifelong residents and newcomers, and people on both sides of the Wabash. Volunteers follow a written code of conduct built on mutual respect and civility, and members can follow events and meetings through a monthly newsletter, #LafayetteProud.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

OUTfest Lafayette has included street festival, live music, drag and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held August 15, 2026. It usually falls third Saturday of August.
