Peninsula Pride

Peninsula Pride celebrates LGBTQ+ people across the Blue Hill Peninsula. The main day includes a festival at the First Congregational Church lot in Blue Hill, a parade through downtown, and an after party, with other events such as an all-ages drag party and an interfaith service during June.

Peninsula Pride is run by a group of volunteers on the Blue Hill Peninsula who want to celebrate, support and uplift LGBTQ+ people across the connected coastal communities of the area. The group focuses on creating safe spaces to gather, hosting inclusive events and sharing information, with the aim of strengthening ties between the towns on the peninsula.

The committee hopes to grow Pride into a year-round presence, with ongoing events around the peninsula and, eventually, resources for people who need help or direction with LGBTQ+ questions. It is not a nonprofit itself. Blue Hill Community Development, a 501(c)(3), serves as its fiscal sponsor and manages donations, and local businesses and organizations support the work each year. Donations can be sent to the fiscal sponsor with Peninsula Pride noted in the memo line.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Peninsula Pride has included festival, parade, drag party and interfaith service.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 20, 2026. It usually falls third Saturday of June.
