Fishers Pride Festival

Fishers Pride Festival is held at Billericay Park by Fishers PRIDE, Inc., which also runs year-round activities for LGBTQ+ residents and allies. The festival offers live performances, food and family activities.

Fishers PRIDE, Inc. describes its mission as building a community where people can express themselves without fear of discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, race or expression. The group commits to amplifying LGBTQ+ voices, bringing together local organizations that support the LGBTQ+ community, and welcoming people of every age, creed, gender identity, national origin, race and ability.

The festival is free and open to LGBTQ+ community members and allies alike, with activities for kids, music, dancing, food and shopping. Vendors sell food and merchandise, and a silent auction helps support the organization. The program has included an Every Family Matters drag show. Organizers suggest bringing water, sunscreen and a blanket or lawn chair for watching the performances, and wearing whatever clothes feel most comfortable.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
