Indy Pride Parade and Festival

Indy Pride is Indianapolis's main LGBTQ+ Pride celebration, run by the nonprofit Indy Pride. The day opens with a parade on Massachusetts Avenue, followed by a festival that in 2026 spread across Military Park, White River State Park and nearby downtown lawns. The organization also runs a Pride 5K, a pageant, sports Pride nights and year-round programs such as a career fair and book series.

Indy Pride describes its purpose as uplifting and uniting LGBTQ+ people in Central Indiana through programming, advocacy, education and celebration throughout the year. It names joy, equity, connection and accountability as its guiding values. The organization traces its roots back more than three decades, growing from small and often hidden gatherings into one of the region's most visible events.

Pride weekend is the organization's biggest fundraiser of the year. Along with the parade and festival, the weekend includes Pet Pride, and each year Indy Pride names parade marshals; for 2026 it chose three community leaders.

The calendar stays busy after June. The free Indy Pride Career Fair at The AMP at 16 Tech connects job seekers with employers that value inclusion. The PrideReads book group meets monthly and received a Humanities Mini-Grant from Indiana Humanities to launch an Author in Conversation series. Community Pride Nights pair with local institutions, such as a strings concert with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and a Halloween drag night at Newfields' Harvest Nights.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Indy Pride Parade and Festival has included parade, festival, 5k, pageant and pet pride.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 13, 2026. It usually falls second Saturday of June.
