Gahanna Pride

Gahanna Pride is an annual family Pride festival at Headley Park run by the Gahanna Pride Network. It includes a bounce house, face painting, food trucks, vendors, drag shows and a DJ. The group also runs a free clothing closet called the Be True to You Closet.

Gahanna Pride started as a grassroots effort by local resident Katie McBroom. Inspired by the legacy of Stonewall, she set out to give LGBTQ+ people, and especially young people, a place in Gahanna where they feel safe and seen. The festival has since become a yearly tradition that brings together people from many backgrounds.

The festival takes place at Headley Park, 1031 Challis Springs Drive. Beyond the bounce house, face painting and drag performances, the day features a guest DJ, DJ Jay, along with local artists, makers and small businesses selling their work. It is open to everyone, whether they come with family, friends or on their own.

The Gahanna Pride Network is volunteer-driven and relies on sponsors, media partners and local businesses. Donations are tax-deductible and support safe space initiatives, expanded resources for LGBTQ+ youth, and year-round programs and events. Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 13, 2026. It usually falls mid-June.
