Honolulu Pride

Honolulu Pride is presented by the Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation and is the state's largest LGBTQ+ celebration. The parade travels down Kalakaua Avenue from Magic Island to the Waikiki Shell, where an evening festival with community booths and live entertainment follows. The 2026 theme, Ho'omau, honors resilience and perseverance, and pride week events run October 14 to 18.

Honolulu Pride is produced by the Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation, which also runs the LGBTQ+ Center Honolulu, creates programs for Hawaii's LGBTQIA+ community, and supports other organizations working on social, health and economic inequality through financial and in-kind aid. The organizers say the event began as a simple march and grew into a larger movement, and the 2026 theme honors the LGBTQIA and MVPFAFF+ community and the leaders who shaped its path.

Pride week in 2026 is scheduled to open with a pau hana at International Market Place, followed by a night of live entertainment at the Hawaii Theatre Center headlined by Big Freedia and an opening party at Scarlet Honolulu. The parade steps off from Magic Island at 3 p.m. with floats, performers, businesses and nonprofits, and it is broadcast by Hawaii News Now.

The evening festival at the Waikiki Shell has more than 70 community booths and four hours of live entertainment, followed by an after party at Hula's Bar and Lei Stand. The weekend also includes a Rainbow Drag Brunch, the annual Lei Pool Party and an official closing party. VIP wristbands add a hosted lounge, seating in front of the main stage and entry to the partner parties.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Honolulu Pride has included parade, festival, drag brunch and pool party.

The next edition is October 17, 2026. It usually falls mid-October, with a week of events leading up to a Saturday parade and festival.
