Humboldt Pride Parade and Festival

Humboldt Pride is a nonprofit that stages an annual parade from 1st and C streets in Old Town Eureka to a festival at Halvorsen Park on the waterfront. The festival includes food booths, a wine and beer garden, live music, and a children's area.

Humboldt Pride is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation based in Eureka whose stated aim is to educate the public about issues facing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and help end discrimination and prejudice. It grew out of a long history of LGBTQ organizing in Humboldt County, and past grand marshals have included Todd Larsen of Queer Humboldt. The group also keeps a directory of LGBTQ social groups, health services, youth programs and welcoming faith communities across the county.

On parade day, entrants and monitors arrive at 11 a.m., volunteers and monitors attend a required training at 11:15, and staging closes at 11:30. The parade steps off at 11:45 and reaches Halvorsen Park on Waterfront Drive around noon. Vehicles, floats and large groups need an entry form, while individual marchers and small groups can simply join, and entries are expected to keep a family-friendly tone.

The festival also has a community and retail vendor marketplace and a DJ. Past performers on the festival stage have included Caravan of Glam, emcee Sherae O'Shaughnessy, Tribal Oasis Bellydance, Sarah Torres and DJ Pressure Anya.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. It usually falls september (2025 edition on September 13).
