About Redwood Pride
Redwood Pride is a Pride parade and march in Eureka followed by a community day festival, sponsored as a project of the Ink People Center for Arts and Culture.
Redwood Pride describes itself as a small, rural nonprofit dedicated to putting on an annual Pride event in Humboldt County. Its mission is to organize events and activities throughout the year that build community, safety and understanding among LGBTQIA+ people and allies in Humboldt and nearby counties.
It operates as a DreamMaker project of the Ink People Center for Arts and Culture, a grassroots, artist-run arts organization in Humboldt County since 1979. The DreamMaker program supports more than 70 community projects with administrative support, management and capacity-building training.
Vendors at Redwood Pride events must provide a certificate of liability insurance naming the Ink People, and those without a City of Arcata special event business license can add one to their order. The group has also raised money through Pancake Agenda gatherings at United Congregational Christian Church in Eureka, where supporters can buy tickets or donate.
