Louisville Pride Festival

The Louisville Pride Festival is a free street festival on Bardstown Road in the Highlands, organized by the Louisville Pride Foundation and billed as Kentucky's largest LGBTQ+ event. The 2026 festival on September 12 had a main stage and a community stage, more than 100 vendors, a family zone, a health and wellness tent and food trucks.

The festival is produced by the Louisville Pride Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and advance equity and representation for all people. Beyond the September street festival, the foundation runs programs through the year, including a food pantry, support groups, HIV support and social events.

The foundation also manages the Louisville Pride Center, an LGBTQ+ community center in Old Louisville. The center is all-ages and accessible, and it is open to everyone whether or not they can pay. It hosts game nights, film screenings, community dinners, book clubs, support groups and educational programs, and it offers meeting and event space, co-working, administrative and technical help, and networking for groups doing LGBTQ+ community work.

On festival day the music runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with local musicians and drag performers spread across two stages. The main stage is also where the Louisville Pride Awards are presented to community leaders. Alongside the vendor rows, the Healthy Communities Initiative offers free vaccines, HIV support and resources for people affected by substance use. Sponsor support is what keeps admission free.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held September 12, 2026. It usually falls second Saturday of September.
