Rocket City PrideFest

Rocket City PrideFest is the main annual event of Rocket City Pride, a Huntsville nonprofit serving North Alabama's LGBTQIA+ community. The family-friendly festival at Campus No. 805 features drag shows, live music, local vendors and activities for all ages, along with a parade.

Rocket City Pride's mission is to uplift and unite the LGBTQIA+ community by creating safe, affirming spaces where every person is seen, valued and supported. Its vision describes a North Alabama where LGBTQIA+ people live openly and with dignity and where differences are met with curiosity rather than fear. The organization operates under published bylaws and makes its financial information and meeting minutes available to the public.

PrideFest is held in October at Campus No. 805, a local entertainment complex. Vendors, sponsors and volunteers each apply through their own process ahead of the festival.

Throughout the year the group maintains resources for the region, including a directory of affirming healthcare, counseling, legal help and other services, and a Safe Spaces list of local businesses and organizations that have committed to being inclusive. It also keeps a community calendar of LGBTQIA+ friendly events across North Alabama, from comedy nights to film screenings.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The next edition is October 3, 2026. It usually falls early October, on a Saturday.
