Rockland Pride

Rockland Pride is a community-led celebration of queer and trans visibility on Main Street in Rockland. In 2026 it became an independent, non-commercial event.

Rockland Pride began in 2023 as a small parade inside the city's annual Summer Solstice Celebration. It later took part in the Sunday Stroll series before becoming a stand-alone event, and it has grown to include a speak-out, live music, activities, a free food tent and a trained safety team. A Rest Nest offers a low-stimulation space for anyone who needs a quiet break.

The event runs from late morning to late afternoon on Main Street, which is closed to traffic and opened to people on foot in the same way as Sunday Stroll events. Rockland Pride is not tied to any single nonprofit, business, school or the City of Rockland. It is a collaboration among individual organizers and community groups.

Longtime organizer Angela McIntyre formed a steering committee to share decisions and give the project steady support, with members covering outreach, the parade, activities, the food tent, music and scheduling. Community members can join an email list or a planning group on Signal.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Rockland Pride has included street festival.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 7, 2026. It usually falls early June.
