Baltimore Trans Pride

Baltimore Trans Pride was founded in 2022 by Baltimore Safe Haven to create a dedicated space during Pride Month for trans culture, community and leadership. The 2026 Trans Pride Week ran June 6 to 14 with an opening reception, a kiki ball and a pier festival, ending with a two-day festival at Druid Hill Park on June 13 and 14. Organizers bill it as Maryland's largest festival for transgender, nonbinary and gender-expansive people.

Baltimore Trans Pride is run by Baltimore Safe Haven, a nonprofit founded in 2018 by Iya Dammons, a Black trans woman activist whose own life included homelessness, survival sex work and incarceration. She started the organization to create safe and supportive spaces for TLGBQIA+ people in Baltimore City who were living in survival mode.

Organizers tie the event to the roots of the Pride movement, which grew out of the work and resistance of Black and Brown transgender and gender-expansive people. They created it because many Pride festivals today do not center or represent trans people, and the week is meant to honor trans history, culture, leadership and resistance in Baltimore and across Maryland.

The 2026 theme was Existence is Resistance. That year's schedule included an opening reception at The William Fell Baltimore, a jazz night at the Top of the World Observatory, the T-Valley 50 Shades of Pink Kiki Ball at Unity Hall, and a two-day festival at Druid Hill Park with performances and vendors. Families, youth, seniors, people with disabilities and allies are welcome at every event.

A Trans Pride centers transgender, nonbinary and gender-diverse people, often with a march or rally alongside community resources and performances.

Baltimore Trans Pride was first held in 2022.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 6-14, 2026. It usually falls mid-June, alongside Baltimore Pride.
