Barnegat Pride Festival

Barnegat Pride holds an annual Pride festival in Barnegat in Ocean County. 2026 was the second annual festival.

Barnegat Pride is a volunteer-driven nonprofit working to build a welcoming community for LGBTQIA+ people of every age, from children and teens to adults and families, along with their allies, in Barnegat and nearby towns. Its stated mission is to bring people together in pursuit of equality, acceptance and progress, and its annual festival is open to all.

After the first festival went well, the group set a longer-term goal: opening a Barnegat Pride Center, a year-round place where community members can gather and find connection. It credits neighbors, friends and local businesses with helping it grow.

A board of directors made up of LGBTQIA+ leaders and allies oversees the organization and brings a mix of lived experience and professional expertise to its governance. The group encourages attendees to share photos using the hashtags #BarnegatPride and #UnityInOurCommunity.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
