Bloomington Pride MN Festival

Bloomington Pride MN hosts a free, family-friendly Pride festival at Bloomington Civic Plaza. The festival includes a marketplace of local vendors, food trucks, live performances and activities for children. In 2026 the event expanded inside the Civic Plaza building with two indoor experiences.

Bloomington Pride MN was founded in 2021 and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Its mission centers on supporting LGBTQ+ people and culture through events, education and advocacy, and it says its work includes people of all races, ethnicities, abilities and backgrounds. The organization partners with local businesses, schools and other groups, and its annual festival draws thousands of people.

Much of its year-round work is educational. LGBTQ+ scholar Dr. Gina Debogovich leads services for businesses and nonprofits, including workplace inclusion training, LGBTQ+ marketing consultations and a history presentation for schools, workplaces and community groups. That session runs about 45 minutes with a 15-minute question period and traces LGBTQ+ history in America from Indigenous two-spirit traditions through the fight for marriage equality to the founding of Bloomington Pride.

The group also offers a free library of educational videos on subjects like LGBTQ+ terminology and key figures and milestones in queer history, and it hosts social events between festivals. A newsletter shares festival updates and volunteer openings.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
