Anoka Pride Day

Anoka Pride Day is a one-day LGBTQIA celebration in Anoka, north of Minneapolis. The 2026 event moved to Riverfront Memorial Park and included activities, a maker's market, food trucks and entertainment. Organizers describe it as a safe and inclusive event focused on advocacy, education and community connection.

The organizers of Anoka Pride Day say their purpose is to build a strong sense of queer community and empowerment in Anoka and nearby towns, and to make LGBTQIA2S+ resources easier to find and better known. The day is aimed at first-time Pride attendees and longtime supporters alike, and friends and families are welcome.

Along with the market and food trucks, the day includes hands-on make-and-take crafts for all ages, so visitors can leave with a small keepsake. A city-wide game called Game in Town sends people around Anoka to local businesses that support Pride, where they can find deals, activities and giveaways. Performers are announced closer to the event.

For parking, organizers point visitors to the City of Anoka public lots at 1905 2nd Ave and 1904 1st Ave, and they ask people not to use the Anoka Courthouse Parking Garage, which closes for the Anoka Car Show in the afternoon. Because the event now rents a city park, city rules require it to hire four police officers, and organizers have also brought in Sequeerity to handle de-escalation if it is needed.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 6, 2026. It usually falls first Saturday in June.
