Flagstaff Pride in the Pines

Pride in the Pines is Northern Arizona's Pride festival, held at Thorpe Park in Flagstaff. The day opens with the Flagstaff Pride Parade downtown, followed by an afternoon and evening festival with entertainment, a kids area, vendors, and food trucks. Admission is free with an advance ticket reservation, and 2026 marked 30 years of Flagstaff Pride.

Flagstaff Pride started as a small gathering at Fort Tuthill Park in 1996 and was incorporated as a nonprofit, the Northern Arizona Pride Association, in 1999. The organization acknowledges that it sits at the base of the San Francisco Peaks on land sacred to the Diné, Hopi, Havasupai, Hualapai, Zuni, Pueblo and Kaibab-Paiute peoples.

That acknowledgment shapes how the group talks about its community. It places Two-Spirit first in the acronym 2SLGBTQIA+ to lift up Indigenous voices and to push back against the erasure of Two-Spirit people under colonization, and it explains each letter of the acronym on its website.

The group's vision is a Flagstaff and Northern Arizona where 2SLGBTQIA+ people can live safely and openly, free from discrimination. Beyond Pride in the Pines, it works through outreach and advocacy throughout the year. The festival depends on donations, which pay for event space, entertainment and accessibility resources, and every donor is thanked by name on the organization's home page.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 20, 2026. It usually falls third Saturday of June.
