Bisbee Pride

Bisbee Pride is a free, multi-day celebration in the historic mining town of Bisbee in Cochise County, run by a volunteer nonprofit. The weekend includes a Saturday morning parade through Old Bisbee, a Pride Village with a kid zone and performances, drag shows, evening parties, and a Sunday tea dance. The group began in 2004 as a small gathering of friends and works year-round on wellness, education, and human rights in Cochise County.

Bisbee Pride grew from a small local celebration into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that does community service work throughout the year. Organizers point to strong local support and note that Bisbee was the first municipality in Arizona to pass a civil union ordinance, before marriage equality became law.

The Pride weekend typically starts before Saturday with a pre-Pride bowling night, a communal gathering at Covenant Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, a movie followed by a dance party with guest DJs, and a drag show with DJ music into the night. The Saturday parade leaves from the historic Cochise County Courthouse and winds down Main Street to Goar Park, where food and merchandise vendors, community organizations, and social and political groups set up.

The schedule has something for most ages. Attendees under 21 get an afternoon foam party with crafts and snacks at the library, and an all-ages performance program runs at Le Cornucopia. Other events have included a womyn's gathering, a Studio 54 themed dress-up party, and drag bingo hosted by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a longtime favorite. The weekend closes with the Sunday tea dance.

The 2024 edition marked 20 years of Bisbee Pride, and past lineups have featured Elton John tribute performers at the piano.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Bisbee Pride was first held in 2004. Organizers reported more than 7,000 people in 2026.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 18-21, 2026. It usually falls third weekend of June.
