FXBG Pride Festival

Fredericksburg Pride holds its annual Pride Festival at Riverfront Park on the Rappahannock. The 2026 edition on June 27 opened with a Pride march at 10 a.m., followed by a festival until 4 p.m. and an evening after party.

Fredericksburg Pride is a 501(c)(3) founded in April 2021 to build a positive, inclusive LGBTQIA+ community in the Fredericksburg area. It is fully volunteer-run, and it says donations and grants go back into programming, outreach and social support events. Earlier editions of the march and festival were held at Old Mill Park before the event moved to Riverfront Park at 701 Sophia Street.

Beyond the festival, the group runs programs it says had not been offered in the region before. These include end-of-month social support gatherings for specific gender identities and orientations, Youth, BIPOC and All Women's programs, I LOVE ME workshops on self-love, and a transgender support group called Forging a Community Transgender Support. Its website hosts a community-submitted directory of affirming local resources, from medical and mental health services to family and youth support.

Fredericksburg Pride is separate from the Pride Center of Fredericksburg, a division of FAHASS that opened in August 2022, though the two have worked together, including co-hosting a Pride prom. The group shares accessibility details for each event and will provide an ASL interpreter at any event when asked at least two weeks ahead.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 27, 2026. It usually falls last Saturday of June.
