About Arlington 23rd Street Pride Block Party
The 23rd Street Pride Block Party is Arlington's Pride street celebration, organized by Arlington County with Equality Arlington on 23rd Street South in Crystal City. The 2026 block party was held on June 6 from 3 to 7 p.m.
Equality Arlington, which co-organizes the block party with the county, is a nonprofit advocacy group for LGBTQ+ residents of Arlington. It grew out of conversations among young LGBTQ+ community leaders in the summer of 2022, prompted by rising attacks on the community in Virginia and around the country, and it was formally set up in 2023 as a 501(c)(4) organization.
The group pushes for policies, programs and services that meet LGBTQ+ needs, whether they come from government, nonprofits or private business. Its stated priorities are better healthcare access, especially for transgender residents; support for LGBTQ+ youth in Arlington Public Schools and the wider community; more county services aimed at LGBTQ+ residents; physical space where people of all ages can gather; and stronger LGBTQ+ cultural representation across Arlington. Its board is made up of local residents and allies, several of them lifelong Arlingtonians.
