Black Pride RVA

Black Pride RVA is a weekend celebration of Black LGBTQ+ people in Richmond organized by Us Giving Richmond Connections. The 2026 weekend ran July 16 to 19 under the theme Then, Now and Forever, with events at several Richmond venues.

Us Giving Richmond Connections was formed by Black LGBTQ community leaders who saw a need for LGBTQ people of color in the region to come together. Its mission is to improve the health and well-being of Black LGBTQ communities in greater Richmond, and it works through education, power building and social engagement.

Black Pride RVA is the group's signature program. The first one took place July 20 to 22, 2018, under the theme Pride with a Purpose, and the organizers describe it as the first Black Pride of its kind in Richmond and in Virginia. That first weekend drew people from around the state and beyond, with events meant to educate about and celebrate the lived experiences of BIPOC LGBTQ people.

Alongside Black Pride RVA, the organization holds an annual Community Health Fair, and both programs aim to bring people together and support physical and mental well-being. Events are planned by a Program Planning Committee that designs and runs the group's activities through the year.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held July 16-19, 2026. It usually falls mid-July.
