Gardner Pride Celebration

Gardner KS Pride holds an annual Pride celebration in Gardner in Johnson County. The 2026 event, Pride Lives Here, was hosted at Warren Place Venue.

Gardner KS Pride is run by volunteers from the Gardner-Edgerton community. Its mission is to build an inclusive community where LGBTQ residents and their allies can gather and feel loved, accepted and respected, and to improve life in town for everyone through community service projects and volunteer work.

The group came together quickly. On June 5, 2021, a Pride Month post on a local Facebook page drew such a positive response that a mix of friends and strangers, some of whom had never met in person, organized the first Gardner Pride Celebration just three weeks later. More than 200 people attended. That October the group held its first Coming Out Day Celebration at Cornerstone Park, the same park where that first Pride celebration took place.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 28, 2026. It usually falls last Sunday of June.
