KC PrideFest

KC PrideFest is Kansas City's main Pride weekend, held at Theis Park near the Country Club Plaza. It includes a parade, main-stage performances by local and national artists, vendors, a health village, an education tent, and family activities. It is produced by KC Pride with the nonprofit Our Spot KC.

The KC Pride Parade starts in Westport at 11 a.m. and travels along Broadway, continuing onto Mill Creek Parkway and ending near the Mill Creek Park Fountain at 47th Street and J.C. Nichols Parkway, with the celebration continuing at Theis Park. Organizers suggest arriving by 10 a.m. for popular spots such as Broadway and Westport Road, and they note that the stretches near Broadway and 40th Street and near Cleaver II and Oak Street tend to be less crowded and easier with kids. ADA viewing areas are marked near Mill Creek Park and Theis Park, and a small clear bag is recommended.

The festival grounds are organized into themed areas: an Education Tent with workshops and talks, a Wellness Tent with resources and affirming providers, a relaxation space sponsored by MOCBOD, Artist Row with spoken word and visual artists, a Game Zone and a Youth Area. The main stage has featured performers such as Baby Tate, Daya Betty, Kornbread Jete, Tenderoni and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo.

KC Pride also runs a talent show, won in 2025 by Lana Luxx, and crowns a court of Pride royalty each year, including a Prince, Princess and Princex of KC Pride.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

KC PrideFest has included parade, festival, talent show and health village.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 5-7, 2026. It usually falls first weekend of June.
