Saco Pride in the Park

Pride in the Park is Saco Main Street's annual Pride celebration at the Foss Road Athletic Complex. It includes a maker's market, a color run, a DJ, lawn games, and food trucks.

Pride in the Park is produced by Saco Main Street, which also runs community events such as the fall Pumpkin Harvest Festival. The Pride event is free and open to all, and it runs for an afternoon at the Foss Road Athletic Complex; in 2026 it took place on the first Saturday in August, with a rain date the next day. Music has come from DJ Mel the British, alongside lawn games and local food trucks.

The color run is free but requires registration. It is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, and the course is two half-mile loops of the field with six stations that blast food-safe color powder. Participants are advised to wear white or light clothing, and the first 75 people to pre-register receive Pride in the Park swag. Everyone must sign a waiver, and children under 16 need a registered adult with them.

The Maker's Market, which returned for a second year in 2026, invites LGBTQIA+, BIPOC and ally crafters and artists to sell their work in a grassy vendor area. Vendors bring their own tents, tables and displays for a 10 by 10 foot space, weight tents on all four corners and stay for the full event. Volunteers attend a required training meeting, in person at the Saco Main Street office on Pepperell Square or online.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held August 1, 2026. It usually falls usually late May or early June.
