Santa Maria Pride

Santa Maria Pride is a free, all-ages festival at the Santa Maria Fairpark hosted by the House of Pride and Equality. It features live entertainment, drag shows, a vendor market, a resource fair, and food trucks. The 2026 festival was the eighth annual.

House of Pride and Equality, also known as HOPE or ESPERANZA, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Santa Maria. During Pride Month it hosts events and programs that welcome LGBTQ+ people and allies from across the Central Coast, with a focus on uplifting queer, trans and Brown voices and connecting people with resources and support.

The organization is led by executive director Suzette Lopez, who was born and raised in Santa Maria to Mexican parents and is a DJ and co-founder of an entertainment company focused on culturally inclusive events and safe spaces. Board members include a military veteran and educator who serves as president, vice president Samantha Guerrero of Lompoc, and founding members who hope Santa Maria will one day have a center with services and space for LGBTQ youth and adults.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 6, 2026. It usually falls first Saturday of June.
