Star City Pride

Star City Pride is Lincoln's Pride weekend, produced by the nonprofit Star City Pride Events. It includes Pride in the Park at Woods Park, a parade around the Nebraska State Capitol, and a ticketed festival downtown with community and vendor booths and food trucks.

Star City Pride Events is the nonprofit that plans Lincoln's official LGBTQIA2S+ Pride events. It works toward a future without discrimination, where all people have equal rights under the law, and it uses its events to inspire, educate, commemorate and celebrate the community.

Its stated goals are to educate the public about the history and the social and legal rights of LGBTQIA2S+ people, to build understanding that helps end prejudice and discrimination, to promote equal treatment in employment, public access and housing, and to sponsor educational programs and an annual festival. A volunteer board oversees the organization and makes sure the money raised goes to the mission. Board roles include directors for entertainment, sponsorship, youth engagement, and diversity, equity and inclusion, along with a community outreach coordinator.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Star City Pride has included parade, festival and pride in the park.

Organizers reported 4,256 people in 2025.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 12-13, 2026. It usually falls second weekend of June.
