Alliance Pride in the Park

Alliance Pride in the Park is a Panhandle Equality event at City Park by the fountain in Alliance with booths, yard games, merchandise, and food trucks.

Alliance Pride in the Park is one of several Pride events run by Panhandle Equality, a nonprofit that works for full equality for residents of the Nebraska Panhandle through advocacy, education and community service. Alliance joined the lineup in 2025, when Panhandle Equality merged with Alliance for Pride and added two Alliance events to its Scottsbluff program, with Sidney also taking part.

The group's roots go back to the first Panhandle Pride, a potluck held in August 2015 at Gardner Park in Gering. It came together on three weeks' notice and drew about 130 people, and that gathering led to the founding of Panhandle Equality. Pride later moved to Frank Park in Scottsbluff as attendance grew. After a virtual event in 2020 and a movie night in 2021, the organization expanded to a three-day Pride weekend in 2022.

Recent Panhandle Pride schedules have included an evening of karaoke and drag with a cover charge and a cash bar, an opening ceremony parade, afternoon booths and food trucks, yard games, and a community potluck followed by a kickball game. Past years have also featured local talent, choir performances and raffle prizes. Outside of Pride, Panhandle Equality hosts monthly game nights and craft nights.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 13, 2026. It usually falls second Saturday of June.
