Chadron Pride

Chadron Pride is a two-day celebration in northwest Nebraska with an evening concert and drag performances at Chadron Open Art, followed by Pride in the Park on the courthouse lawn. It is presented with Love Is for All Chadron and Panhandle Equality.

Chadron Pride is part of the Panhandle Pride events run by Panhandle Equality, a nonprofit that works for LGBTQ+ equality in the Nebraska Panhandle through advocacy, education and community service. Panhandle Pride began as a potluck in Gardner Park in Gering on August 29, 2015, planned on three weeks' notice and attended by about 130 people. That first gathering led to the creation of Panhandle Equality, and the Scottsbluff celebration later moved to Frank Park and grew into a three-day weekend. In 2025 the group merged with Alliance for Pride and added events in Alliance and Sidney, with a goal of reaching more Panhandle towns.

The Chadron weekend opens with an evening concert and drag show, with doors at 7 p.m., karaoke at 7:30 and the main show at 9. Admission has been $20, sold online or at the door, and The Emporium Bean and Bottle runs a cash bar. Flamy Grant was the 2026 headliner.

The second day starts with an opening ceremony parade at 11 a.m., followed by booths, food trucks, merchandise and yard games into the afternoon. The schedule also lists a community potluck, with Panhandle Equality providing the main meal and guests bringing sides, followed by a kickball game. Outside of Pride season, the group hosts monthly game nights and craft nights.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held July 17-18, 2026. It usually falls mid-July.
