Virginia PrideFest

Virginia PrideFest is a large one-day Pride festival in Richmond produced by Virginia Pride, a program of Diversity Richmond, and presented with Richmond Region Tourism's OutRVA. The 2026 festival on September 12 at Midtown Green had about 200 vendors, exhibitors and food trucks, a main stage and a youth pride pavilion with its own stage.

Virginia Pride is a program of Diversity Richmond, which describes itself as the hub of Greater Richmond's LGBTQ+ community, serving as a catalyst, a voice, a place and a resource. Virginia Pride works through partnerships, advocacy and events so LGBTQ people across the region feel safe, seen and celebrated, and it bills PrideFest as the largest in the Commonwealth.

The festival at Midtown Green, 2401 W. Leigh Street, runs from noon to 8 p.m. Entertainment is split between the Kroger Mainstage and age-appropriate acts at the Allianz Youth Pride Pavilion. The 2026 lineup was headlined by David Archuleta with country musician Chris Housman, pop performer Madison Rose and Drag Race alum A'keria Davenport, alongside local acts ranging from R&B to pop-punk. A VIP option adds complimentary drinks, an elevated view of the grounds and performer meet-and-greets.

A week of events around Richmond surrounds the festival. Volunteers help with setup, parking, greeting, the information desk, ADA area assistance and Youth Pride activities, and an official host hotel offers a discounted rate.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held September 12, 2026. It usually falls mid-September.
