Watertown Pride

Watertown Pride is a free, all-ages town Pride with a parade from Moxley Park, led by the Watertown High School Band and a brass band, and a festival at Saltonstall Park. The festival includes speakers, circus and drag performers, and live music.

Watertown Pride is a community-powered event guided by an advisory committee that works with the city. Its goals are to celebrate and affirm LGBTQIA+ people across Watertown, to center intersectionality across race, gender, ability, age, class, language and immigration status, and to make the event accessible and welcoming for Deaf, disabled, youth, immigrant and BIPOC community members.

The parade steps off from Moxley Park at 11 a.m., led by the Watertown High School Band and the Good Trouble Brass Band, and the festival runs until 4 p.m. at Saltonstall Park. The 2026 lineup included Jean Sequins and the Green Dragon Circus, with music from the Carrie Ferguson Band and The Femmes.

The committee is made up of local residents. The city liaison, Carey, has long supervised teen services at the Watertown Free Public Library and is driven by making LGBTQIA+ youth feel seen. The program co-chair, a Watertown High School GSA alum, raises funds and books entertainment and speakers, and other members include a communications co-chair active with World in Watertown, the founder of a women's social group who organizes in the local ace community, and a library trustee and human rights commissioner who co-founded the Chinese American Association of Watertown.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 6, 2026. It usually falls early June.
