Boston Black Pride

Boston Black Pride is a multi-day celebration of Black and QTBIPOC LGBTQ+ people hosted by the Boston LesBiGay Urban Foundation, a Boston nonprofit. The program mixes parties, wellness events, a Kiki ball, a youth event, and a brunch, and closes with a parade and a music and arts festival. Weekend passes are sold for the ticketed events.

The Boston LesBiGay Urban Foundation is a Boston 501(c)(3) whose mission is to raise awareness of and support for the city's QTBIPOC community through education and carefully run spaces. Boston Black Pride is its volunteer-driven program of Pride events, building toward the annual parade and festival and bringing QTBIPOC people and allies together around empowerment, visibility and joy.

The foundation describes its goal for Black Pride as sparking community change and helping people form real, healthy relationships, using entertainment and events as a place where people can be themselves. Its broader vision puts medical and mental health awareness first and aims to lift up LGBTQIA+ leaders as a source of hope for Black, Brown and Latino LGBTQIA+ residents of the inner city.

The weekend also makes room for the community's own businesses and services. Artisans, resource providers and businesses can apply to vend, partner organizations can bring health and support services directly to attendees, and artists, DJs, MCs, dancers and performers can submit to appear on stage.

Black Pride events center Black LGBTQ+ people. Many run over a long weekend, with parties, panels, health and wellness programs and community gatherings.

Boston Black Pride has included parade, festival, youth events, ball, brunch and parties.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held July 1-5, 2026. It usually falls early July, over the Fourth of July week, ending with a parade and festival.
