Wind River Pride

Wind River Pride holds a series of LGBTQ+ and Two Spirit Pride events in the Wind River region of central Wyoming during June.

Wind River Pride brings together 2SLGBTQIA+ people and allies of all ages in central Wyoming around joy, growth and healing. The group recognizes that the Wind River region is shared by three communities, the Eastern Shoshone, the Northern Arapaho and non-Native Wyomingites, and it aims to help repair relationships between peoples and with the land, with a particular commitment to queer Black, Indigenous and people of color in the region.

June brings a series of events across Lander and Riverton. Recent calendars have included an expressive dance gathering at the Lander Yoga Collective with a suggested 10 dollar contribution, a potluck kickback, Queers with Quills, a spoken word evening at Indie Darling Bookstore, and storytelling about queerness and the outdoors at the Wyoming Outdoor Council.

The 12th annual picnic moved to Jaycee Park in Riverton, with food, games and prizes. Other highlights have included a 21 and over dance party with a live DJ and local drag at Pushroot Brewery and a drag show with raffles at Lander City Park, where guests are asked to bring cash for tips. The organization is run entirely by volunteers and relies on community donations.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Wind River Pride has included pride month events.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 5-27, 2026. It usually falls june.
