Berwyn Pride Walk

Berwyn's Pride Walk is a late-morning walk across the city's Depot District to mark Pride Month. It is presented by the Berwyn Development Corporation as a celebration of the city's diverse community.

The walk starts with a gathering at Harlem and Windsor, just outside The James Joyce Irish Pub, where organizers hand out flags and other festive items. After about an hour of mingling the group sets off across the Depot District, finishing at East Avenue. A mobile photo booth from Bespoke Flipbooks has been part of the day, and several nearby businesses offer post-walk specials.

The event is framed as a celebration of how Berwyn has become one of the most culturally diverse communities in the Chicago area. It is presented by the Berwyn Development Corporation, a nonprofit founded in 1983 that grew out of an earlier business development commission started by local business owners in the 1970s.

Today the BDC is a public-private partnership with the City of Berwyn that provides chamber services and economic development. It markets the city as a place to do business and visit, and it runs programs to help minority-owned businesses overcome barriers to economic opportunity.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 27, 2026. It usually falls late June, Saturday morning.
