Aurora Pride Parade

The Aurora Pride Parade steps off at noon in downtown Aurora. It is organized by the volunteer group Aurora Pride, which also runs grand marshal nominations and a float competition. Aurora's Pride month also includes a flag raising at the city government building and Pride at the Plaza at Millennium Plaza.

The parade follows a short downtown route. It starts at East Benton Street and South Broadway, heads northeast up Broadway to Downer Place, then turns left and runs northwest along Downer Place to finish at West Downer Place and North Middle Avenue.

On parade day, an information and merchandise table sits on the sidewalk outside Paramount School of the Arts at 20 South Stolp Avenue, and volunteers check in inside the same building. The after party is held at Two Brothers Roundhouse, 205 N. Broadway.

Groups apply in advance to join the lineup, and entrants can march, skate or ride. Demand has outgrown the space: in 2025 the organizers received more applications than they could fit, so entries were accepted, declined or waitlisted, and spots went to the waitlist when paperwork was not finished on time. Aurora Pride also shares community resources for LGBTQ+ residents and allies, sells Pride T-shirts, and relies on volunteers and donations to keep the parade going.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
