Flint Pride

Flint Pride is an annual outdoor festival in downtown Flint with vendor booths, entertainment, and community sponsors. The 2026 event was billed as the 16th annual Flint Pride Festival.

Flint Pride is hosted by Wellness Services Inc., a nonprofit serving the Greater Flint area that grew out of HIV services. The organization offers medical care, free HIV and STI testing, harm reduction resources and medical case management, along with workshops, advocacy and community-building work. The 2026 festival took place downtown on September 19 from 2 to 8 p.m.

Wellness is led by CEO Stevi Atkins, who joined the organization as an intern in 2001 and has led it since 2010, drawing on more than two decades in HIV prevention, harm reduction and LGBTQIA+ advocacy. Teresa Springer, a Flint native who began as an intern on National HIV Testing Day in 2005, helped develop the Live Well Medical Clinic, a partnership that expanded access to affirming care. The organization offers walk-in HIV and STI testing and can connect people with HIV self-test kits.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held September 19, 2026. It usually falls usually a Saturday in July.
