Frenchtown Pride Week

Frenchtown Pride Week begins with Pride flags installed downtown and includes queer kickball, an LGBT+ networking event and sidewalk chalking. It is organized by the Frenchtown Business and Professional Association.

Frenchtown Pride Week is run by the Frenchtown Business and Professional Association, a volunteer-run, member-supported nonprofit that also produces local traditions such as the Green Fair, Bastille Day, Riverfest, the Zombie Crawl and the holiday tree lighting. Frenchtown sits on the Delaware River in Hunterdon County, about an hour from New York City and Philadelphia and roughly 30 minutes from Doylestown, Easton, New Hope and Lambertville. Organizers hope to grow the week in step with New Hope Celebrates across the river.

The week opens with volunteers hanging large Pride flags around downtown, meeting outside Country Chic on Bridge Street. Queer kickball is played at Old Frenchtown Field at 12th and Harrison Streets, with team sign-up at 5:30 p.m., the first 22 players placed on teams, and all ages welcome. Other nights bring an LGBT+ community and professional networking event at Owlfly and an evening of sidewalk chalk art, with chalk handed out in front of TD Bank.

The week wraps up with a Pride flag giveaway at Frenchtown United Methodist Church, followed by what organizers call a mighty mini parade, just over 1,100 feet long. It steps off at 12:30 p.m. on Race Street, turns onto Bridge Street and ends at Sunbeam Lenape Park for a picnic with live music, light food and refreshments.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 22-28, 2026. It usually falls last full week of June.
