Lake County Pride Festival

The Lake County Pride Festival is run by LGBTQ+ Allies Lake County, a nonprofit serving Lake County. The 2026 festival was held at the Lake County History Center in Painesville with vendors, food and entertainers.

LGBTQ+ Allies Lake County describes itself as the first and only LGBTQ+ nonprofit in Lake County, Ohio. It formed as a grassroots response to a lack of resources, and its staff and volunteers include LGBTQ+ people and allies who live and work in the county. The group notes that Lake County has no nondiscrimination ordinances protecting LGBTQ+ residents from being denied housing or services, and it focuses on education and advocacy, including meetings with Ohio senators about the Ohio Fairness Act.

Its year-round work includes support groups for families, youth and adults, and social gatherings meant to reduce isolation among LGBTQ+ youth, adults and older adults. The organization offers safe space and sensitivity training to local businesses and organizations and keeps a database of LGBTQ+ friendly businesses, social venues and resources in the county. The Pride festival is its largest public event.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held August 15, 2026. It usually falls mid-August.
