Longmeadow Pride Festival

The Longmeadow Pride Festival is an annual afternoon festival on the Longmeadow Town Green run by the Longmeadow Pride Alliance, a local nonprofit. The alliance also runs programming for the local LGBTQIA+ community through the rest of the year.

The Longmeadow Pride Alliance began with a single festival on the Town Green in 2021, when more than 1,000 people turned out. The nonprofit's mission is to bring support, engagement and resources to the LGBTQ+ community in Longmeadow and the surrounding area, and it hopes to be more than a festival organizer: a network of families, a source of resources and a safe space. It works with Longmeadow Public Schools on inclusive policies and against bullying and harassment, and its Connector Hub points people to LGBTQIA+ crisis lines, affirming health care, legal help and youth and adult programs across the Pioneer Valley and Western Massachusetts.

The festival is always free, with no tickets or admission fee, and sponsors cover the cost. It opens at 1 p.m. on the green near Longmeadow Street and Williams Street. In 2025 it drew more than 85 vendors, about half of them LGBTQ+ resource groups, and the 2026 festival, the sixth, had 58 booths ranging from artisans and makers to nonprofits, town committees and local businesses. It went ahead in the rain that year.

Booth hosts get a 13 by 13 foot space that fits a standard 10 by 10 foot tent, with a table and two chairs included, and nonprofit, retail and promotional rates are offered. Vendors are asked to arrive by 9 a.m. to set up.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
