Lowell Pride Festival

Lowell Pride is a nonprofit that hosts an annual Pride festival on the Lowell Riverwalk. The group also holds a fall fundraising gala.

Lowell Pride is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Lowell, Michigan. Its mission is to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, and to raise awareness, share resources and advocate for the rights and well-being of LGBTQIA+ people through events and programs. Its vision is a world where people can live as their true selves without fear of discrimination.

The 2026 festival on June 6 was the sixth annual edition. Organizers framed it as both a celebration and an act of resistance at a time when LGBTQIA+ rights are being challenged, pointing to six years of building community in the face of hate. The festival brings together vendors, sponsors and a main stage lineup, and a board member coordinates children's activities. The 2024 festival carried the theme Power in Pride.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
