MoPride in the Park

MoPride in the Park is Modesto's annual Pride festival at Graceada Park, organized by MoPride, which also runs a youth prom, a Pride picnic, and other programs.

MoPride, Inc. works alongside the Central Valley Pride Center, a 100 percent volunteer-run space in Modesto where LGBTQ+ people can find support groups, attend community events and get referrals to health providers across the Central Valley. Volunteers build the peer support groups and resources, and the center stays open through donations, including items bought from an online wish list.

Beyond the park festival, MoPride's calendar includes a free Rainbow Prom for teens, a Pride picnic at Graceada Park focused on mental health under the theme It's Okay Not to Be Okay, and drag fundraisers such as a Halloween horror show at the historic State Theatre in downtown Modesto. The organization is actively recruiting volunteers to help with these programs and with its peer support groups.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
